The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated manages, operates and maintains the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges, the Bonaventure Expressway, the federally owned section of the Honoré Mercier Bridge, the Melocheville Tunnel and the Champlain Bridge Ice Control Structure in the Montréal region, in order to provide the public with safe and efficient transit.

SIBC operates and manages the international toll bridge system linking Cornwall, Ontario, Akwesasne and Massena, New York. It handles over 120,000 commercial and 2,300,000 passenger transits annually. The Bridge is a vital transportation route for major industry in the region.

The St. Mary's River Bridge Company (SMRBC)


SMRBC is the owner of the Canadian half of the international bridge and associated structures between Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and its  U.S. counterpart. The joint U.S. owner, the  Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is responsible for  the operation and maintenance the entire bridge through a ten-year agreement with FBCL.

With its offices located at Collins Landing adjacent to the Thousand Islands Bridge, acts as the regional promotion agency for the Thousand Islands Seaway Region, Jefferson County and Southeastern Ontario.

Subsidiaries & Partners

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited oversees several assets in Québec and Ontario. FBCL directly manages three subsidiary companies. The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Seaway International Bridge Corporation, Ltd (SIBC) are fully-owned. The St. Mary's River Bridge Company (SMRBC) is owned at 91%. In addition to these responsibilities, FBCL is also accountable for the oversight and management of the Canadian portion of the Thousands Islands Bridge.
